Transforming Contract Management With AI-Powered Extraction and Intuitive UX

The Challenge

SpotDraft had powerful contract management capabilities but a UX that struggled to keep up with their enterprise ambitions. Legal teams — not developers — were the primary users, and they needed to review, redline, and approve contracts quickly. The existing interface buried key information and required too many clicks to complete basic workflows.

Our Approach

Tequity ran a UX audit and user research sprint with SpotDraft's enterprise customers. We identified the three most painful workflows — contract ingestion, clause review, and approval routing — and redesigned each from first principles.

In parallel, we built an AI extraction layer that automatically identifies and categorizes key clauses (payment terms, termination rights, liability caps, renewal dates) from uploaded contracts. The output feeds directly into the redesigned review interface, so legal teams see structured summaries instead of raw text.

The Results

The redesigned platform dramatically reduced review time for enterprise users. The AI extraction accuracy consistently exceeded 94% across contract types, and users who had previously needed days to onboard were productive within hours. SpotDraft saw an improvement in enterprise deal velocity as procurement teams moved through contract cycles faster.
