Transforming Clinical EEG Workflows Through Intuitive Design and Accessible Information
The Challenge
Alto Neuroscience's EEG platform contained powerful data, but clinicians struggled to extract actionable insights efficiently. EEG waveforms are complex, and the existing interface required significant expertise to navigate — slowing workflows and creating bottlenecks in clinical trials and patient care.
Our Approach
Tequity worked closely with Alto's clinical and engineering teams to understand exactly how neurologists and clinical researchers interact with EEG data. We mapped the full interpretation workflow — from raw signal review to finding identification to report generation — and redesigned each step.
The redesigned platform surfaces key findings prominently, allows rapid navigation across long recordings, and generates structured reports automatically for common findings. We built annotation tools that match clinical mental models, making it easier for less experienced users to work alongside senior clinicians.
The Results
Clinical users at Alto reported dramatically faster analysis workflows after the redesign. The platform's accessibility improvements allowed broader adoption across clinical sites, and the automated reporting features saved significant time on documentation — letting clinicians focus on interpretation rather than paperwork.
